With the participation of more than 50 companies, Made in Syria Festival (Welcome to Eid) opens in Kafr Batna, Ghouta

Damascus (ST): The activities of the Made in Syria Festival “Welcome to Eid” in its 137th session kicked off with the participation of more than 50 national industrial companies. The event  is being held by the Damascus Countryside Governorate in cooperation with the Damascus Chamber of Industry and its countryside and the Damascus Countryside Chamber of Commerce in the city of Kafr Batna in Eastern Ghouta in the Sultan Palace hall at the entrance to the city.

The festival, which continues until the 26th of Ramadan, includes a variety of food products, drinks and sweets, in addition to men’s, women’s and children’s clothing and shoes, and chemical products such as detergents in all its forms and uses.

In a statement to the media, the governor of Damascus countryside, Moataz Abu Al-Nasr Jamran, confirmed that this festival, which comes before the Eid Al-Fitr, is to support  the people of the eastern Ghouta region in terms of securing many basic living necessities for them by displaying them in one place, which saves them the trouble of buying them from several places. It also constitutes, through the great turnout witnessed on the first day, a message that Syria and its life-loving people are capable of production and giving, and are stronger than the unjust economic siege imposed on them.

In turn, the head of the Damascus Countryside Chamber of Commerce, Osama Mustafa, explained that the setting and control of prices were supervised, and that the festival was an opportunity to display and market national products and sell them to the citizen at prices lower than the local market.
