Massive Syrian celebration in Serbia commemorating Evacuation Day

The Embassy of the Syrian Arab Republic in Belgrade, in cooperation with the Syrian community in Serbia and the branch of the National Union of Syrian Students, held a massive celebration on the occasion of the seventy-sixth anniversary of the Evacuation Day.

The Chargé d’Affairs, Minister Plenipotentiary, Dr. Ammar Awad, stressed in a speech on this occasion that the sons of the generation that achieved independence  still write with their blood and  offer sacrifices that bear the fruit  of victory over the terrorists and their sponsors.He also spoke about  the unjust economic measures imposed on the Syrian people by the United States and Western countries.

 

Awad stressed that Syria was and will remain an impenetrable fortress in the face of aggression and terrorism, and a fundamental pillar of Arab security, thanks to the rallying of its people around their leadership to confront all forces of aggression, conspiracy and terrorism. Syria is more determined than ever to expel the occupiers and extend its sovereignty over its entire territory.

Awad praised the distinguished bilateral relations between Syria and Serbia, calling for their strengthening in all fields.

The event was attended by the Director of the Middle East and North Africa Department in the Serbian Foreign Ministry, the assistants of the Ministers of Culture, Education, Economy, Mining and Energy, the Grand Mufti of Serbia, and a representative of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

The ceremony was also attended by ambassadors of a number of friendly Arab and foreign countries, representatives of economic, commercial, cultural and academic activities, media outlets, and a large crowd of the Syrian community in Serbia.
