Yesterday, on the occasion of the 77thanniversary of Russia’s victory over Nazism, an artistic ceremony was held in the Martyrs’ Girls’ Schools in Damascus, to express the strength of friendship and cooperation relations between Syria and Russia.
The participants began the ceremony with a minute of silence in honor of the souls of our martyrs, followed by the playing of the national anthems of the two countries, and a documentary film on Syrian-Russian relations was shown.
The school choir of the sons and daughters of the martyrs performed a group of patriotic Syrian and Russian songs.
The students performed a group of folk dances inspired by the Syrian and Russian heritage, in addition to poetry passages.
In her speech, the director of the schools for the children of the martyrs confirmed that this celebration expresses the depth of relations and great cooperation between the two friendly peoples.
She thanked the Russian Federation, which stood with Syria in its just causes in the face of aggression and global terrorism, in addition to its support for it in all fields.
In his speech, the Russian ambassador in Damascus, Alexander Yefimov, praised the depth of the historical relations between the two friendly countries, people, army and leadership.
Yefimov thanked the General Command of the Army and Armed Forces for organizing this ceremony, which reflects the solid relations between the two countries.
The choir presented a group of diverse songs on this occasion, then the celebration concluded with the national anthem of the Syrian Arab Republic.
The ceremony was attended by retired Major General Mahmoud Shawa, Deputy Minister of Defense and Governor of Damascus, a number of officers of the General Command of the Army and Armed Forces, and leaders of the Russian forces operating in Syria.
