Competent authorities seize weapons left by terrorists, some of them American-made in Daraa

Daraa, (ST) – The competent authorities confiscated more than a thousand different weapons, including light and medium weapons, some of them American-made, in addition to various ammunition left by terrorist organizations.

A field source told SANA that, the weapons confiscation operations took more than three months, with the cooperation of the local community, that contributed to the confiscation of these weapons from all over the governorate.

 The source indicated that many young men in the governorate benefited from the recent amendments to the law regulating carrying weapons and handed over their weapons to the competent authorities.

The source noted the people’s positive role in encouraging those carrying illegal weapons to hand it over to the state. It indicated that the confiscated weapons included automatic rifles, assassination pistols, snipers, RPGs, anti-armor and anti-aircraft weapons, hand grenades and various ammunitions in large quantities.
