Syrian-Iranian Talks on Increasing Health Cooperation Opportunities

The Syrian Ambassador to Tehran, Dr. Shafiq Dayyoub, discussed with the Iranian Minister of Health and Medical Treatment, Dr. Muhammad Hussein Niknam, ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the field of health, medicine and medical equipment.

During a meeting at the Iranian Ministry of Health today, Tuesday, the 19th of April 2022, Ambassador Dayyoub pointed out that there are opportunities for cooperation in the field of localizing the manufacture of some rare and quality medicines and medical equipment by making use of technologies, modern science, technology, exchange of research, laboratory and production experiences.

Dayyoub stressed the importance of addressing the difficulties that hinder the intensification and strengthening of cooperation between pharmaceutical and medical device companies in Syria and Iran, pointing out that holding a virtual meeting between the concerned authorities in the health ministries of the two countries would contribute to strengthening joint cooperation.

For his part, Dr. Niknam affirmed the Iranian Ministry of Health’s readiness to cooperate with the Syrian Ministry of Health in all possible fields, stressing the importance of strengthening this cooperation and transferring expertise between the two countries, especially in the fields of knowledge and technology.
