Lavrov: The special operation in Ukraine has begun a new stage

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed that the Russian special military operation in Ukraine has begun a new stage, noting that Kiev did not appreciate the goodwill gesture from Moscow when Russian forces were withdrawn from the outskirts of Kiev.

Lavrov explained during an interview with India Today channel that Russia, as a goodwill gesture, after the negotiations that were held with Ukraine in Istanbul, changed the locations of its forces in the Chernihiv and Kiev regions, but this was not appreciated and instead a movie or theater scene was created immediately in Bucha.

Regarding the allegations of Kiev and the West about what happened in the Ukrainian city of Bucha, Lavrov said: “Three days after the departure of the Russian forces from Bucha, it was announced that bodies had been found in the city to accuse us.. What happened there was staged and fabricated. Russia will reveal and prove the truth of what happened,” adding, “After several days, in the city of Kramatorsk, which is under the control of the Ukrainians, they called people to the railway station and struck a missile and began broadcasting pictures of the dead.”

Lavrov stressed that Ukraine’s lack of commitment to the Minsk agreements with the support of the West is what is behind the outbreak of the crisis in Ukraine, noting that the presence of NATO on Moscow’s borders is a threat to its security, and that Western countries have turned Ukraine into a platform for NATO, and that the Ukrainian army has strengthened its presence in the east in violation of commitments with the aim of attacking Russian interests which forced Russia to start its own military operation.

Lavrov recalled that the goal of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine is to protect the population of Donbass and eradicate Nazism, noting that Russia has no intention of using nuclear weapons, and stressing that the operation does not target civilians, but rather the military infrastructure.

Lavrov indicated that the Americans, under the pretext of their security, destroyed cities in Iraq, Libya and Syria and approached Russia’s borders, ignoring that they were threatening Russian security. .

Lavrov pointed out that the United States cannot control the world and act in it as it wants, because the era of unipolarity has ended, and the world today is multipolar.

Lavrov expressed his disappointment with the actions of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, noting that Zelensky initiated the call for negotiations, but his position is not fixed and constantly changing, and the West uses Zelensky against Russia, and thus he cannot be trusted.
