Syria participates in a joint integrative scientific symposium for representatives of the BRICS group and the Commonwealth of Independent States

Moscow, (ST) – The Syrian Ambassador in Moscow, Dr. Riad Haddad, affirmed that the new multipolar world order is based on the remains of the unipolar world .This unipolar war had led to a lot of suffering in the world  since the nineties of the last century.

In a joint scientific symposium held yesterday in Moscow between representatives of the BRICS group “Russia, China, India, Brazil, South Africa” and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) titled “State sovereignty and cooperation as a measure in a multipolar world”, Ambassador Haddad said that,“the United States took advantage of the unipolar moment to attack the sovereignty of countries, steal peoples’ capabilities and destroy countries that refused to submit to their hegemony. He added that, the best example of this is what happened and is happening in Syria when the United States and its allies decided to attack our country and destroy its infrastructure with the aim of consolidating hegemony over our region and the world, disregarding all international charters and laws.

 Haddad also said that, “Syria is certain that what is happening today in Ukraine and what happened before it in Syria in terms of defeating Takfiri terrorism and defeating the American scheme represents the countdown minutes at the end of the age of American hegemony and the unipolar world.” He referred to Syria’s support for the special military operation carried out by Russia in Ukraine in defense of the people of Donbass and the protection of its land from the dangers of NATO.

In turn, Larisa Zelentsova, Chair of the Organizing Committee of the Symposium and President of the International Alliance for Strategic Projects of the BRICS Group, said that, “it is imperative that the BRICS and CIS countries move in light of the changes in the world to a new level of relations based on a multipolar system.” She added that, “to achieve this change to a new level of relations, it is necessary to focus on science, modern technologies and innovations”.

For his part, Anatoly Kazakov, Chairman of the Coordinating Council of the CIS Economic Development Business Center Association, said that,“the changing world is witnessing a great transformation in all fields, especially in the financial and economic sector .The Development Bank of the BRICS Group has contributed to the implementation of many regional projects, and we aspire to expand work at the international level, similar to the “New Silk Road project.”

Alan Salbaev, Advisor to the Minister of Digital Development and Communications of Russia stressed his country’s readiness to develop economic cooperation based on mutual benefit with friendly countries and design effective digital tools with the aim of enhancing the sovereignty of the national economy. 

Salbaev added that, “we have done extensive work to achieve the sustainable development goals, and we have a solid base on which to move to a new level of the digital economy through the use of modern technologies. 

For her part, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the BRICS countries in Russia, Yelena Bukina, stressed the need to focus on the sustainable development process based on morals, spiritual values and optimal principles, especially infrastructure in societies, which is the family.
