The Syrian Embassy and the Student Union branch in Cuba hold a celebration on Independence anniversary

Havana (ST): The Syrian Embassy in Cuba, in cooperation with the branch of the National Union of Syrian Students there, held a celebration on the occasion of the seventy-sixth anniversary of the Independence Day, at the Syrian residence in the capital, Havana.

The acting Chargé d’Affairs underlined the importance of constantly commemorating this anniversary, especially in light of the fierce war that Syria has been waging for years against terrorism, stressing that “Syria, as it won the battle of independence, will achieve victory in the battle against terrorism.”
In turn, the students and members of the Syrian community in Cuba reiterated their support for their country in confronting the conspiracy targeting its people, sovereignty and territorial integrity, expressing their confidence that they will emerge victorious in this terrorist war that was imposed on him.
For his part, Cuban journalist Miguel Hernandre, who participated in the celebration, stressed that Syria is an example of steadfastness and defense of sovereignty and identity, and that it has distinguished historical and brotherly relations with Cuba.
