President Al-Assad congratulates Christian denominations that follow Western calendar on Easter

DAMASCUS, April.17, (ST)- President Bashar Al-Assad congratulated on Sunday the Christian denominations that follow the Western calendar on the occasion of  Easter, wishing them and all Syrians health, goodness and peace.
 
According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), Mansour Azzam, the Minister of Presidential Affairs, conveyed President Al-Assad’s congratulations to Patriarch Joseph al-Absi, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East for the Melkite Catholics, His Eminence Mar Yohanna Jihad Battah, Archbishop of Damascus for the Syriac Catholics, His Eminence Archbishop Armach Nalbandian, Archbishop of Damascus for the Armenian Orthodox, and Archbishop Joseph Arnaouti for the Archbishop of Damascus. Armenian Catholics, Reverend Peter Zaour, President of the Evangelical Synod in Syria and Lebanon, and Spiritual Head of the National Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Damascus; His Eminence Archbishop Samir Nassar, Maronite Archbishop of Damascus; Father Anton Luxe, Head of the Latin Community in Damascus; the Father Malik Melos, pastor of the Chaldean Church, and to the members of their denominations. 
 
For their part, the heads of the Christian denominations expressed their thanks to President Al-Assad for congratulating them on this occasion, wishing him and his family and all Syrians health and wellness, and affirming their full confidence in the ability of Syria and its people to overcome the consequences of the terrorist war and the unjust siege imposed on the country. 
 
They prayed to God to protect Syria, its people and its leadership, have mercy on its martyrs and heal its wounded, asserting that the steadfastness of the members of the one Syrian family will restore security and stability to its territories.
