Popular Committee for the Liberation of the Golan commemorates “Evacuation Day”

“Evacuation Day” in Syria, which is observed on the 17th of April, is an important event in the country’s history that inspires generations to stick to their rights, the Popular Committee for the Liberation of the Golan affirmed.

In a statement marking the 76th  anniversary of Evacuation Day, the committee  said that those who achieved independence from the French colonialism are able to achieve victory every time and everywhere as long as they have enough determination to resist the occupation.

 The committee pointed out that the victory being achieved by the Syrian Arab Army and allies of resistance in the war on terrorism has become a reality and a lesson for history.

 “Victory is inevitable thanks to the sacrifices of the Syrian army, the steadfastness of the Syrian people and the wisdom of the Syrian leadership,” said the committee, stressing that Golan will inevitably return to the homeland. It reiterated the need continue the struggle and resistance against the Zionist project and against terrorism with the aim of completing the process of liberating and restoring the occupied Golan.

In the same context, the Palestinian Liberation Army staff affirmed that the Syrian people, who achieved independence, had realized that expelling the French occupation from their country couldn’t be attained through international resolutions or negotiations, but through resisting and confronting this occupation.   

The heroic deeds of the Syrian people will continue to be a source of pride and a beacon for  the struggle against occupiers, the army staff said.
