3.9 magnitude earthquake strikes southwest Aleppo

A 3.9 magnitude earthquake struck southwest Aleppo on Friday, according to the National Earthquake Center.

The earthquake happened at 9:54 pm, Damascus local time, 66 km southwest of Aleppo and at a depth of 2.9 km, the center said in a statement.

The same area was hit by a 2.9 magnitude earthquake last September.
