More than 90 Palestinians injured during the Israeli storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque

Occupied Jerusalem (ST): Dozens of Palestinians were injured and arrested today, during the Israeli occupation forces attack on  Al-Aqsa Mosque and  those stationed there.

Wafa news agency reported that the occupation forces stormed into  the mosque’s courtyards after the dawn prayer and fired a barrage of bullets and poisonous gas canisters at the worshipers, injuring 67 Palestinians, including children, women, the elderly, paramedics and journalists, and causing material damage to the mosque.

At about eight o’clock in the morning, the occupation forces renewed their attack on Al-Aqsa after withdrawing from its courtyards and stationed at the Al-Maghariba and Al-Silsila Gates.

The occupation troops forced the Palestinians to evacuate the mosque and turned it into a military barracks by deploying large numbers of troops in its courtyards and at its entrances. They also intensified their deployment in the Old City of Jerusalem and impeded the arrival of ambulances to the mosque. They also closed the entrances leading to Al-Aqsa Mosque and erected iron barricades in the Bab al-Amoud area to prevent Palestinians from flocking to the mosque. To support those stationed there, it also expelled the press crews to prevent them from documenting the crimes of the occupation.
