China carries out military exercises in Taiwan in response to US provocations

Beijing (ST): China announced today that it will carry out  large-scale military exercises in Taiwan, in response to the recent US provocations.

 

Local media quoted the Chinese Ministry of Defense as saying, “The Chinese army will conduct today’s air and naval military exercises in the Taiwan region,” noting that they are directed against the “wrong signals” of the United States on the Taiwan issue.

The White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said yesterday that Washington will take all possible measures to prevent the reunification of Taiwan with China.
