Initiative to donate surplus medicines to needy patients in Tartous

Workers in the health center in Al-Sheikh Saad area in Tartous countryside continue with their recently launched initiative to donate the surplus medicines to patients in need in a bid to secure medicines to patients in the light of the difficult economic circumstances in the country.

The initiative aims at enhancing the culture of cooperation and humanitarian work under the current difficult circumstances and at extending a helping hand to the patients who can’t afford to pay the costs of their medicines, Head of the Center Issa Hussein said in a statement to SANA.

According to Hussein, the initiative also aims at rationalizing the use of medicines, so that more patients in need can get free medicine.

The initiative has been greatly welcomed and supported as it is  noble humanitarian work that has so far targeted 2100 patients, Hussein clarified, pointing out that many medical companies, as well as some doctors and pharmacists have provided free samples of medicine to be distributed to the patients who need it.

He indicated that 200 kinds of medicines have so far been collected.

The initiative was launched on January 4th, 2022 and it will continue for unlimited time so that it can provide assistance to as many patients as possible.
