Syrian-Russian talks on improving the teaching of the Russian language

On April 9th, the Minister of Education, Dr. Daren Tabbaa, discussed with Alexei Cherkisov, head of the delegation of the Christian World Union in Russia, mechanisms for promoting the teaching of the Russian language, developing the capabilities of its teachers, and activating the exchange of students and teachers between the two countries.

Minister Tabbaa pointed out the importance of activating student visits and teaching frameworks between the two countries in order to exchange educational and cultural experiences and unify the efforts of the two peoples.

 

Minister Tabbaa pointed to the importance of preparing and training Russian language teachers within two years due to the increasing demand for studying the Russian language.

In turn, Cherkisov confirmed that there are   many activities that can be carried out in Syria to learn the Russian language (online), working on writing two books in the Russian language, as well as setting up camps for children in Russia.

The meeting was attended by members of the Union, Konstantin Machulka, George Banud, BabinAbroyan, and the Director of Planning and International Cooperation at the ministry, Ghassan Shghari.
