Syria participates in the European Girls Mathematical Olympiad for the first time
Damascus (ST): Syria is participating for the first time in the European Mathematical Olympiad for Girls, organized virtually by Hungary , in which female students from 57 countries compete.
The Excellence and Creativity Commission said in a statement, that two members of the National Team for the Syrian Scientific Olympiad in the field of mathematics are participating in the European Olympiad from the Commission’s headquarters in Damascus.
The competitions include two rounds of tests today and tomorrow, each lasting four and a half hours continuously. As soon as the tests are finished, the answers are sent to Hungary to be corrected by the International Scientific Committee of the competition, and the marks and results are calculated.
The European Mathematical Olympiad for Girls is held annually, and this year its 11th edition is organized, and Syria’s experimental participation is the first.
