“Syrians have been creative in many areas, including medicine , engineering , programming and music , all over the world, but in a quick online search you may find only images documenting a difficult phase of our lives,”With these words, the young expatriate Ruba Nesli, summarized the goal of the “The Emirates Loves Syria” initiative. They publish videos showing Syrians who have achieved success stories and instilled hope.
Nesli, the director of the Emirates Love Syria team, said that a social media page called “Emirates Love Syria” was set up in 2021 and is part of a series of pages called “Emirates Love” for a number of countries as an initiative under the auspices of the new Media Academy in Dubai. The initiative seeks to build bridges of love among the peoples of the world with the aim of illuminating the stories of ambition and success of distinguished people.
Nesli explained to the SANA reporter that there are two teams, one in Dubai with people of multi – age nationalities, and one in Syria, whose mission is to seek success stories for Syrians who have been able to make a distinct mark in society as volunteers, initiators and innovators in their fields. She indicated that the ultimate goal is to show the true image of Syrians and to change the images produced by the war.
The Director added that the initiative also sought to disseminate stories of successful Syrians in the Emirates who had left a great mark and had successfully invested the opportunities they had had to fulfill their aspirations.
Nesli stated that the initiative achieved a wide spread through the inspiring stories it published, as it transmits optimism and positivity with credibility and realism.
“As a team we return the favor to our country, which we love and are proud to belong to. Despite years of distance, the heart still beats with its love and we feel a duty to rebuild it and restore the beautiful memories we once had .” she concluded.
