Naryshkin: NATO wants Ukraine to be a new Afghanistan for Russia

The head of Russia’s foreign intelligence service, Sergei Naryshkin, said that the United States sees its main task as prolonging the conflict in Ukraine as much as possible.

Naryshkin added in statements to RIA Novosti news agency that Washington would like to make this conflict as costly as possible to Moscow and Kiev by using the dirtiest methods, including sending militants to organize underground movements.

According to Naryshkin, the United States is trying at the same time to prevent the current escalation of the situation in Ukraine so that it does not spread to the West, pointing out that American strategists want to make Ukraine a new Afghanistan for Russia, but it is clear that the United States has failed strategically in that.
