Peskov: Bucha events are a fake provocation aimed at discrediting Russia

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov considered the events in the Ukrainian city of Bucha a provocation aimed at discrediting Russia, pointing out that the Kremlin has records of conflicting statements by US President Joe Biden and the Pentagon about these events.

In a press statement today, Tuesday, the 5th of April 2022, Peskov said, “What happened in Bucha is a large and well-orchestrated fraud, the purpose of which is to discredit Russia. The Kremlin rejects any accusations against the Russian army.”

Peskov stressed that the Kremlin doubts that an international investigation can now be conducted impartially into the Bucha provocation, adding: We call on the leaders of the West and the UN Security Council to stay away from emotions and think with their minds.

Internet users have been questioning the credibility of Kyiv’s accusations against Moscow, noting that there was no blood near the bodies on the ground and that some of the dead had white armbands on their sleeves and could have been killed by Ukrainian security forces or regional defense.
