The events in Bucha are lies to accuse Russia, says Antonov

Moscow, (ST) – The Russian ambassador to the United States, Anatoly Antonov, described the events and provocations in the Ukrainian city of Bucha as the culmination of lies to accuse Russia.

RT website quoted Antonov as saying in a statement on Tuesday that “the baseless accusations are part of the coordinated efforts of Western countries to accuse the Russian armed forces.”

Antonov said that “American colleagues should pay attention to the facts and stop criminal indifference to the actions of Ukrainian extremists who continue to detain civilians, open indiscriminate fire on refugees, and torture all those who do not share their Nazi ideology.” He pointed out that “things are going exactly the opposite in the areas controlled by the Russian armed forces in Ukraine, where hundreds of tons of food, medicine and necessities have been sent to meet the needs of the civilian population. “The Russian side guarantees the safety of humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of Ukrainians and foreign citizens”, he added.

Antonov stressed the need for the US authorities to stop supplying the Kiev regime with weapons and said that, “we call on Washington to stop supplying lethal weapons to Ukraine and by doing so; the United States is causing more victims.

Antonov indicated that the inability of the Kiev regime to ensure proper control over weapons led to the spread of gangs involved in looting, theft and terrorism.
