TEHRAN, (ST) _Oil Minister Suleiman Abbas discussed with Iranian counterpart Rustam Qasemi in the presence of the Governor of Central Bank of Syria Dr. Adib Mayaleh in Tehran yesterday following up the implementation of signed agreements in providing oil and gas and its derivatives . Also discussed were mutual efforts to overcome economic sanctions and the blatant war against the Syrian people, targeting their living and economy.
The Iranian side stressed readiness to provide all elements of support and oil needs for Syria, according to the specific programs, stressing that the escalation of the economic war will not achieve its goals in undermining the will of the Syrian people and their determination to eliminate armed terrorist groups backed by the West , the US and their hirelings in countries of the region.
Minister Abbas stressed the importance of working together to enhance the steadfastness of the Syrian people who are exposed to unjust siege, pointing out that implementing oil agreements concluded between the two sides will reflect positively on the living conditions of the Syrian people.
On the sidelines of the talks , a framework agreement for the transfer of Iranian gas to Syria through Iraq, was co- signed by the Syrian and Iranian ministers.
In the same context, the two sides held economic and trade talks between the Secretary General of Syrian Cabinet Tayseer Zoubi and the Iranian Minister of Trade ,Industry and Minerals Mehdi Ghadanfari to follow up the implementation of bilateral economic and trade agreements provide for securing basic food commodities , and the implementation of the one billion US $ credit line to cover Syria ‘s needs of electrical and medical supplies, and medicines and food commodities .
The two sides stressed the need for continued work and activating bilateral cooperation to support Syrian people steadfastness, especially in the economic, commercial and service areas to eliminate the current crisis.
The two sides stressed the importance of contracts and agreements concluded between the two sides and taking all the necessary procedures and mechanisms for their prompt implementation to meet the needs and aspirations of the Syrian people and enhance their steadfastness.
Zoubi pointed out acts of terrorism imposed on Syria by armed terrorist groups, backed by international and regional forces , stressing that the Syrian people are able to face impeding plots and will be victorious , thanks to their solid stand behind their leadership ,their unity , rejection of foreign dictations and support of its allies.
Zoubi also stressed the fact that economic victories strengthen military victories achieved by the Syrian Arab Army against takfir terrorist groups that destroyed all the infrastructure and life requirements in Syria, stressing the need to accelerate foodstuffs supplies and essential commodities to relieve the Syrian people and enhance their steadfastness.
A round of talks was also held between the Governor of Central Bank of Syria Dr. Adib Mayaleh and officials of the Central Bank of Iran in the presence of Oil Minister Suleiman Abbas and the Syrian ambassador in Tehran, to follow up the implementation of the credit line on oil and food needs. The two sides stressed the importance of implementing the credit line, which will be positively reflected on the economic, commercial , financial, health and banking services fields in Syria.
