Seoul’s hostile and reckless statements can ignite war, says Pyongyang

Pyongyang, (ST) – The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) stressed on Sunday that the statements of the South Korean Defense Minister about a “preemptive strike” against Pyongyang are dangerous and could ignite the inter-Korean war.

“Yesterday, the South Korean Defense Minister (Suh Wook) revealed his own confrontational hysteria against the DPRK and dared to talk about a preemptive strike against (DPRK),” Kim Yo Jong, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Democratic People’s Party of Korea, was quoted by the KCNA. She also said  in a statement that DPRK possesses nuclear weapons and is capable of destroying any major targets in Seoul if necessary.”

 “This person is obsessed with confrontation and immersed in this mindset with his compatriots in the North, and his reckless and hard-line rhetoric has further exacerbated inter-Korean relations and military tension on the Korean Peninsula,” Yo Jong added.

Yo Jong explained that,”Pyongyang can only take this confrontational hysteria seriously and reconsider many things”. She added that South Korea could face a serious threat due to the reckless statements made by its defense minister.
