Russian Foreign Ministry: The European Union’s hostile actions will not remain unanswered

Moscow (ST): The Russian Foreign Ministry announced that the hostilities of the European Union will not remain unanswered, expressing the hope that Brussels will realize that confrontation with Russia is not in its interest.

The Russian RIA Novosti news agency quoted the Director of the European Cooperation Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Nikolai Koprinets, as saying “The actions of the European Union will not go unanswered,”, adding that “the irresponsible Brussels sanctions against Russia negatively affect the daily life of ordinary Europeans.”

The Russian diplomat added: “I do not think that the Europeans are ready to pay the price for more civilian death in Ukraine from their pockets and to turn Europe from a zone of cooperation and stability into a zone of conflict.”

Russia announced yesterday that unfriendly countries must pay for Russian gas supplies to it in rubles, not in dollars or euros, noting that the Russian government has prepared a plan to confront the restrictive measures imposed against it.

Russia has included the EU’s top leadership on the blacklist, in response to Western sanctions against Russian figures.
