Sabbagh meets Nikzad

DAMASCUS, March.31, (ST)- The Speaker of the People’s Assembly [Parliament] Hammoudeh Sabbagh has described the relations between Syria and Iran as “ deeply-rooted and strong”, referring to the development of the special parliamentary relations between the two countries.

Sabbagh’s remarks were made during his meeting on Thursday with  the Deputy Speaker of the Iranian Shura Council Ali Nikzad and the accompanying delegation. He said that he highly appreciated Iran’s principled and firm stances toward regional issues and its support for Syria in its war against terror.

The speaker stressed that Syria, Iran and the countries of the axis of resistance are united in the face of the Israeli entity and the Western powers that support it, mainly the US which tries to pressure the peoples and undermine their unity and their independent decision.

Sabbagh called for enhancing economic relations between the two friendly countries to keep pace with important political relations.
For his part, Nikzad affirmed that Syria, under the leadership of President Bashar Al-Assad, will remain the head of the axis of resistance.

Nikzad added that the US and its Western agents resorted to impose sanctions on Syria and Iran after their failure in the fierce and hard military war against them, stressing that his country would continue to support Syria in all fields.

He pointed out that he held in Syria very important talks on developing economic relations and pushing them forward.
