Antonov: America is deliberately exaggerating Russian losses in Ukraine to provoke discontent in Russia

The Russian ambassador to the United States, Anatoly Antonov, confirmed that the US State Department is deliberately exaggerating the number of losses of the Russian Armed Forces in Ukraine in order to provoke public discontent in Russia.

In response to the allegations of US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland that the Russian armed forces suffered significant losses during the special operation in Ukraine, TASS news agency quoted Antonov as saying in a statement that “the representative of the US State Department deliberately exaggerates the number of losses in the ranks of the Russian Armed Forces in Ukraine with the aim of creating general resentment in our country”, stressing that this policy” will not succeed”.

Antonov noted that the decision of the Russian leadership to conduct a special military operation in Ukraine enjoys wide support in Russia and that Russian citizens understand that we are talking about protecting the national interests of their country.
