Syria participated in the Minsk International Book Fair, which is held from the 23rd to the 27th of March under the slogan “The Flow of the History of the Nation.”
Syria’s pavilion in this year’s exhibition, which was organized by the Russian Embassy in Minsk with the participation of the branch of the National Union of Syrian Students in Belarus, included a set of cultural and tourism books, publications and brochures available at the embassy in both Arabic and Russian, in addition to some paintings, photos, handicrafts and traditional clothing that expresses Syria’s history and civilization.
Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei, Minister of Information Vladimir Bertsov, Minister of Education Andrei Ivanets and Deputy Director of the Presidential Administration Maxim Raginkov visited the pavilion. They expressed their admiration for its exhibits, wishing to continue and enhance participation in the coming year.
Syria’s ambassador to Belarus, Muhammad Al-Amrani, stressed the importance of strengthening cultural and economic relations and raising them to the level of solid political relations between the two friendly countries.
A number of ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Minsk, along with a large number of Belarusian citizens visited the pavilion.
Besides Syria, 222 publishing houses from 12 countries and a number of embassies accredited in the Belarusian capital participated in the exhibition.
