Putin: The West is trying to write off Russia and distort its culture

Moscow (ST): Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that the West is trying to write off Russian and its people, calling on cultural workers to defend Russian culture and prevent attempts to distort it.

 

During a meeting with the winners of the presidential prizes in the field of literature, art and culture, Putin congratulated workers in the cultural field on their professional holiday, which falls today, stressing the importance of their work for the state.

Putin said: “Culture is great and inexhaustible, and it refer toato the diversity of the spiritual and historical heritage of the multinational people of our country and is one of the most important foundations of the state and society”, noting that attempts to abolish Russia did not begin yesterday.
