Beirut (ST): Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdullahian reiterated his country’s continued support for Syria and its keenness to strengthen strategic relations with it in various fields.
Abdullahian made it clear in an interview with Al-Mayadeen TV today that Tehran welcomes the development of relations between Syria and Arab countries and all countries of the world.
With regard to the Vienna negotiations aimed at reviving the nuclear agreement, Abdullahian said the point of agreement approached in the negotiations, but what is important for Tehran is how to lift the sanctions, pointing out that there were several attempts by the Americans to negotiate directly on the outstanding issues. Abdullahian said: If the US administration is serious, it must show good faith before considering direct negotiations.
Regarding relations with Lebanon, Abdullahian reiterated his country’s readiness to provide all kinds of assistance to Lebanon to overcome the difficult crisis it is going through, indicating that he made proposals to Lebanese officials about establishing two energy plants in the south and north and supplying Lebanon with Iranian gas.
