Abdullahian: We are approaching the final stage of the agreement in Vienna

On March 22nd, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdullahian reiterated his country’s serious position to reach a good and strong agreement on the nuclear program as soon as possible.

Abdullahian added that the parties to the talks in the Austrian capital Vienna are approaching the final stages of the agreement.

“We are approaching the final stage of the Vienna agreement, and the United States must show its alleged goodwill,” Abdullahian said during a telephone conversation with his Iraqi counterpart, Fouad Hussein.

Abdullahian stressed the need to lift the embargo on his country in the Vienna talks.

Abdullahian added: “In the remaining few very important issues, we have presented initiatives to the United States through the European Union coordinator, and it is now up to the American side to show its goodwill to work,”

Abdullahian referred to the meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Islamabad, calling on the organization to focus on issues that help in strengthening solidarity among Islamic nations.

The two ministers also discussed the latest developments related to the Vienna talks, as well as the developments of the Russian military operation in Ukraine.

On March 16th, the Iranian Foreign Minister confirmed the possibility of reaching a good, firm and sustainable agreement with the support of all parties to the talks in Vienna if the US side acted realistically.
