On March 21st, UAE Minister of State for Defense Affairs Mohammed Ahmed Al Bawardi Al Falasi visited the Syrian pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai and toured its departments.
Minister Al Falasi said in a statement: “I am pleased to visit the Syrian pavilion today and learn about the oldest civilizations through the exhibits.”
The Emirati minister expressed his admiration for the good organization inside the Syrian pavilion and its modern display tools, which made the Syrian pavilion a destination for visitors to Expo 2020 Dubai.
During the tour, the Emirati delegation was briefed on the various artistic and cultural exhibits, from the first alphabet to the room designated to listen to the oldest musical notation in history.
The delegation expressed great admiration for the collective art exhibition hosted by the pavilion under the title “I am the Syrian”, as each painting represented a face from Syria.
The idea of the exhibition is based on the fact that every Syrian person is part of the collective awareness that we are all similar and interconnected and that together we will build a brighter future for Syria and the world.
At the end of the visit, the Syrian Ambassador and Commissioner-General of the wing, Dr. Ghassan Abbas, presented the UAE ministerwith a copy of the first written peace agreement that was the reason for the end of the war between the Hittites and the Egyptians on Syrian soil.
The Emirati minister presented the ministry’s shield to the officials of the Syrian wing.
Ambassador Abbas stated that the Syrian participation in Expo 2020 Dubai represented a great opportunity to exchange cultures and achieve intellectual and scientific communication among the countries of the world.
