Khatibzadeh: Iran rejects the double approach of Western countries towards human rights

Tehran (ST): Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh affirmed today his country’s rejection of the hypocrisy of Western countries and their double approach towards human rights.

 

Commenting on the report of the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Iran, Javed Rehman, IRNA news agency quoted Khatibzadeh at the forty-ninth session of the Human Rights Council: “Iran rejects the double approach and hypocrisy of Western countries towards human rights and is committed to supporting and promoting human rights in the world and continues to promote it for its people despite the United States imposed unilateral coercive measures.” 

Khatibzadeh stressed that his country rejects the report, which is full of  incorrect  information and biased conclusions, and said, “The political and selective approach to human rights does not help to strengthen them, but rather eliminates and undermines them.”
