Memorandum of Understanding between Syria and Pakistan for cooperation in the field of tourism and investment
Syria and Pakistan signed today, Thursday, the 17th of March 2022 a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of tourism, hospitality and investment in the tourism sector, at the Ministry of Tourism building.
The memorandum was signed on the Syrian side by the Minister of Tourism, Eng. Muhammad Rami Martini, and on the Pakistani side, by the Ambassador of the Republic of Pakistan in Damascus, Saeed Muhammad Khan, aims to develop and strengthen means of cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism and hospitality development.
The memorandum includes cooperation in the various fields of exchanging tourists, developing tourism between the two countries, encouraging organized tourist groups from tourism and travel agencies, cooperation in the field of investment, promotion and marketing, exchanging experiences in the field of training and facilitating the promotion of tourism investment opportunities.
Minister Martini indicated that Syria is preparing to open up prospects for cooperation with friendly countries in the tourism field, which has been affected as a result of the Corona epidemic, stressing that cooperation will not be limited to visits and airlines, but will be strengthened in aspects of tourism investment and the exchange of tourist groups from the two countries.
Martini called on Pakistani businessmen and companies interested in the tourism and travel sector to visit Syria and get acquainted with the Syrian tourism economy in general to advance aspects of this activity between the two countries.
In turn, the Pakistani ambassador stressed the importance of this agreement to promote tourism and investment between the two countries, explaining that tourist trips between the two sides were relaunched in 2021 and are continuing, expressing hope to activate tourism investment between the two countries.
