Syria, Iran discuss efforts being exerted to carry out water projects

DAMASCUS, March.15, (ST)-The Minister of Water Resources Tammam Ra’ed discussed on Tuesday with visiting Iranian delegation headed by the  Advisor of the Iranian Defense Minister and Head of Economic Cooperation Council in Iran Mustafa Ethbathi the efforts being exerted to carry out water projects. 
 
According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), the two sides agreed on setting up water treatment plant in Damascus countryside. 
 
Ra’ed asserted the need to enhance cooperation between Syria and Iran, referring to the efforts exerted by the Iranian government to set up water treatment plants in Hasakah city to ensure drinking water to the residents of the city after the Turkish regime had cut off water supply from Alouk station to the city. 
 
For his part, the Iranian official spoke about the fruitful and constructive cooperation that enhances the bilateral relations.  
 
Yesterday, the Minister of Industry Ziad Sabbagh met the Iranian delegation and discussed with it the implementation of the projects upon which the two countries have agreed. 
 
The Iranian delegation’s visit to Syria aims to push economic cooperation forwards.
