Ex-US officer: We trained neo-Nazis in Ukraine

Washington (ST): Former US Marine Corps officer Scott Ritter revealed that the US Army trained neo-Nazis in Ukraine and contributed to their expansion within the state apparatus.

In an interview with journalist George Galloway, Ritter said that the American, British and Canadian armies trained the neo-Nazis in Ukraine who were affiliated with the Azov Brigade, who later seized power in the country.

Ritter stressed that foreign military units from the United States and the European Union visited Ukraine to form extremist nationalist groups in the west of the country, after which they overthrew the country’s elected legitimate president and began to pursue policies of violence and intimidation against the population.

Ritter noted that the influence of these malicious Nazi groups in Ukraine had become so serious that they threatened former head of state Petro Poroshenko, who was ready to recognize the special status of Donbas in 2015.

Ritter stated that a similar fate would have happened to the current president, Vladimir Zelensky, had he not included those Nazi groups in the Ukrainian forces and gave them a free hand everywhere.
