The Russian Duma directs to take legal measures against the American Meta company

Moscow (ST): The Speaker of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin instructed that an appellate lawsuit be prepared  and immediate measures be taken against the extremist American company “Meta”.

 

Volodin was quoted by Sputnik news agency as saying during a parliamentary session: “It is right to direct the Security Committee to prepare an appeal to the Prosecutor General and to form an investigative committee to take immediate action against this platform that is waging an information war against Russia”.

Yesterday, Meta’s internal emails revealed that Meta had instructed content moderators to temporarily allow publication of posts calling for violence against Moscow and Russian soldiers in the context of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine in a temporary change of hate speech policies.
