“My language: Beauty and Joy” a cultural forum on the occasion of the Arab Day of the Arabic Language

The Shami (Damascene) Gallery for Arts, Heritage and Civilization at the Al-Fateh Islamic Complex and the Directorate of Guidance in the Ministry of Endowments, organized My languageBeauty and Joy” forum which is linguistic and cultural event, at Dar Al-Aman for the care of orphans and sons of martyrs in Damascus on March 7th

The forum was held on the occasion of the Arab Day of the Arabic Language, which falls on March 1 of each year

 

The Minister of Endowments, Dr. Muhammad Abdul Sattar Al-Sayed, stressed the need to spread awareness of the teaching of the Arabic language and its rules and the importance of empowering and immunizing the classical language in society, as it is the main factor in protecting Arab culture, heritage and civilization. 

The Minister of Endowments, Dr. Muhammad Abdul Sattar Al-Sayed, indicated to the ministry’s keenness and interest in teaching the Arabic language in its educational institutions.

For her part, the Minister of Culture, Dr. Lubana Mushawah, affirmed that the Arabic language is the carrier of thought and the basic element in our cultural identity

Minister of Culture, Dr. Lubana Mushawahpointed to the importance of the workshops within the forum, which motivate children to learn the Arabic language through games and innovative illustrations, which contributes to enabling them to appreciate the symbolic and aesthetic connotations of our Arabic language. 

The General Supervisor of the Al-Fateh Islamic Complex, Dr. Hossam Al-Din Farfour, pointed out the importance and necessity of raising and paying attention to the level of teaching the Arabic language

The opening of the forum was attended by Minister of Information, Dr. Boutros Al-Hallaq, the Director of Endowments in Damascus Countryside, Dr. Khader Shahrour, a number of Islamic scholars and Christian clerics, and cultural, social and educational activities. 

The forum included workshops to promote the learning of Quranic and Arabic readings for children through puppet theatre, philology, lexicons, meanings, performances, rhythm, Islamic arts, calligraphy, decoration, architecture, and art criticism
