Al-Miqdad: Relations between Syria and Armenia witness a growing development in all fields

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdad affirmed that the friendly relations between Syria and Armenia are witnessing  development in all fields to serve the common interests between the two countries.

During an exchange of congratulatory messages with his Armenian counterpart, Ararat Mirzoyan, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Al-Miqdad expressed his sincere congratulations and best wishes to the friendly government and people of Armenia.

 

Al-Miqdad reiterated the Syrian government’s aspiration to achieve more progress in order to serve the common interests of the two countries and strengthen historical relations between the two countries’ people.  

For his part, Minister Mirzoyan expressed his warmest congratulations to the Syrian government on this occasion, stressing that the Armenian-Syrian relations are based on a solid foundation of respect and mutual trust.

Minister Mirzoyan said that, since the first day of the crisis in Syria, Armenia has defended Syria’s right to preserve its unity and sovereignty and the right of the Syrian people to self-determination.He denounced the terrorism that has  targeted Syria for years.

Minister Mirzoyan added that his country attaches great importance to the Syrian People’s Assembly’s recognition and official condemnation of the Armenian Genocide, which is  evidence of the solidarity between the Armenian and Syrian people.

The minister concluded his message by emphasizing his country’s keenness to strengthen Armenian-Syrian relations and move them forward in the interest of both peoples and countries.
