Turkish and Ukrainian intelligence organizations seek to recruit terrorists in the north of Syria to fight in Ukraine
A Russian military source has said that agents of the Security Service of Ukraine together with their Turkish colleagues visited areas in the north of Syria.
“Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) agents have been seeking to recruit terrorists, positioned in the north of Syria, for fighting in Ukraine,” the source said.
According to source, on February 4th , “a group of three employees of the Security Service of Ukraine, accompanied by officers of the Turkish national intelligence organization, visited areas controlled by Turkey in the north of Syria, including the cities of Afrin and Azaz”.
The source said that intelligence employees visited the base of a terrorist group affiliated to the so-called “Free Syrian Army” where they met with the commanders of several pro-Turkish groups (Firkat Sultan Murad, Liwa Al-Muattasim), as well as the camps of the illegal armed forces, according to Sputnik.
During those meetings, they discussed the possibility of recruiting terrorists into Ukrainian forces”. They also agreed to organize a series of secret meetings with leaders of the concerned terrorist groups for discussing the matter”, the source went on to say.
