Cuba confirms its desire to strengthen economic cooperation relations with Syria

Havana (ST): Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca, affirmed his country’s strong desire to strengthen economic cooperation relations with Syria and raise them to the level of their distinguished political relations.

During his meeting with Syria’s Ambassador to Cuba, Dr. Idris Maya, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment in the capital, Havana, Malmierca offered ways to strengthen and develop these relations for the benefit of the two friendly peoples and countries.

 For his part, Ambassador Maya reiterated Syria’s condemnation of the unjust blockade imposed by the United States of America on Cuba, stressing that the two friendly countries are looking forward to more cooperation and upgrading relations in various fields, especially the economic ones.

The meeting was attended from the Cuban side by Sergio Espinosa, Director of the Africa and Middle East Department in the ministry, and from the embassy, diplomatic attache Ali Hassan Abbas.
