DAMASCUS, March.1, (ST)- The Syrian- Cuban Friendship Committee at the People’s Assembly [Parliament] discussed on Tuesday with Cuba’s Ambassador in Damascus, Miguel Porto Parga, the ways of eveloping the parliamentary relations between the two counties.
The Head and members of the committee described the relations between Syria and Cuba as deeply-rooted, referring to the necessity of boosting them in all firelds through intensifying the exchanged visits and scientific scholarships.
They hailed Cuba’s principled stances in support of Syria and the resilience of its people in the face of the economic blockade imposed by the US on the two states, adding that Cuba sent 240 thousand dozes of Covid-19 vaccination to the Syrian people.
For his part, the ambassador said that it is very important to hold continuous meetings between the two states in a way that serves the joint interests.
He condemned the US blatant intervention in the affairs of other states with the aim of looting their resources, as well as providing weapons and financial support to terrorists as it did in Syria, Iraq and Libya, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).
