Foreign Ministry Slams EU decision on Hezbollah

DAMASCUS, (ST)- An official source at the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry on Tuesday expressed condemnation  of the European Union foreign ministers’ decision to put what they called “the armed wing of Lebanese Hezbollah” on its list of terrorism.

“undoubtedly, the decision came in response to the U.S. and Israeli dictates  against not only the movement of resistance in Lebanon  but also the rest of the Arab states, “said the source.

“Hezbollah is a fundamental  part of the Lebanese national fabric and enjoys a wide popularity in Lebanon,” said the source, adding that Hezbollah plays a vital role as regards boosting national unity in brotherly Lebanon  .So because of this Hezbollah was eyed by states and forces that eat themselves up only to do harm against Lebanon and the Arab nation,”.

“Syria strongly denounces this decision which encourages aggression and occupation, and stresses that it won’t affect the spirit of the Resistance led by Hezbollah to liberate South Lebanon from the Israeli occupation,” underscored  the source.

“the decision is in line with illegitimate interests and plots of “Israel” in the region. Syria does not only condemns the decision but also raps those who are behind issuing the said decision, concluded the source.
