Syrian Arab army clashes with thugs in several sites, confiscates 27 thermal rockets

PROVINCES,(ST)_Units of the armed forces have confiscated 27  thermal rockets outside al-Hassaka, al-Raqqa and Daraa provinces and have pounded an arms depot in the northern Aleppo province, according to official sources.

Some 6 thermal rockets, RPG launchers, a sniper, 3 bomb belts, hi-tech devices and munitions were seized today inside a hideout of terrorists in al-Mghera town in al-Hassaka province.

A similar quantity of  weapons besides 14.5mm guns and phosphorus bombs were also seized in Raqqa province, precisely in the town of al-Maqbara in Tal Abyad area.

Other 15 thermal rockets and a barrel containing 200kg of explosives were found in al-Hammadin quarter in Daraa city during the mopping-up operations. 

This gain coincided with targeting several terrorists’ hideouts south-west al-Hassaka and confronting an armed terrorist group’s attempt to enter al-Ataleh town in the same province.

An unknown number of terrorists was reportedly eliminated in the said province and in several areas in Daraa, Idlib, and Der Ezzour provinces.

Fierce fighting in Khan al-Assal

More terrorists from al-Nusra Front were crushed in the northern Aleppo province when the armed forces obliterated one of their arms cache in al-Mansoura town and launched a qualitative operation in al-Layramon area (in the western Aleppo countryside).

The same province (Aleppo) saw fierce fighting between the armed forces and the armed terrorist groups in Khan al-Assal area and nearby farms as well as on the outskirts of al-Rashidin quarter amid reports of destroying a weapon-loaded car coming from Turkey towards Daret Ezzeh area.

“The terrorists, who were inside the car, were presumably killed or injured,” an official source said.

It added that the armed forces hammered members of a terrorist group as they were trying to sneak into al-Azezeh town in the southern Aleppo countryside and targeted terrorist groupings in al-Wadeha town.

Meanwhile, it was reported that the armed forces repelled the terrorists’ bid to detonate booby-traps in Em al-Tababir village outside Palmyra and battered several terrorist groupings in quarters of Bab Hod, Joret al-Shayyah, al-Hamedeyeh, al-Warsheh, al-Qosor and al-Qarabis in Homs city and in al-Hesn, Nasaten al-Zarah and Kafrlaha outside.

A shell hits Homs city

At noon, a terrorist attack raged in the same province (Homs) as a mortar shell struck the residential al-Ghouta quarter in the city causing the martyrdom of three citizens.

The shell,  fired by the terrorist groups, left several citizens wounded and massive damages to houses and cars, according to an official source.

Another terrorist act occurred outside Banyas in Tartous province when Imam of al-Qrir Town Mosque, Sheikh Osama Tawfiq al-A’asar, was shot dead by a terrorist group.   

Clashes in al-Qabon and Barzeh suburbs

In another development, the armed forces eliminated a ringleader and gangsters in Barzeh and al-Qabon suburbs outside the capital and discovered a tunnel in Jobar suburb.

Over the past hours, the armed forces have continued crackdown operations  in easternGhouta and in the northern and southern areas of Damascus countryside (Erbin, Doma, Harasta, Adra, Babbila, Hajjira, and al-Hajar al-Aswad).

An unknown number of terrorists  were killed  in the operations.
