Strong competition in the 3rd Syrian honey festival that kicked off in Damascus

The Syria branch of the Arab Beekeepers Union held the 3rd Syrian honey festival in Tishreen Sports City in Damascus with the participation of about 45 beekeepers from different governorates.

The event which will last until the 26th of this month aims to make people familiar with bee products and their types and the latest products used in beekeeping.

Eng. Muhammad Hassan Qatana, the Minister of Agriculture, said in a statement to reporters, “a laboratory will soon be opened in the Ministry of Agriculture to enable breeders to analyze honey at reduced prices. Pointing out that the work is continuing to develop a map of natural pastures for nectar and bee plants to help breeders know their whereabouts and the time needed to move to them and know the available Plants can accommodate a specific number of cells in cooperation with the indicative units.”

For his part, the head of the Arab Beekeepers Union’s Syria branch, Eyad Daaboul, referred to the great diversity in the products being shown in the festival this year and the competition between beekeepers by presenting their products in new marketing forms.

Participant Ahmad Kasso from “Kasso Honey”, who displays various kinds of honey, told the “Syriatimes e- newspaper that he participates in this event for the third time with the aim of showing his products and selling them directly to visitors.

Eng. Yaman Daaboul from “Al- Fardous Establishment for producing honey” displays honey, shampoo, soaps creams, candies and other products, which are made of honey and natural materials.

 He participates in this festival because he sees that such event is a link between consumers and producers and to brief people about their products.

Another Participant Fahd Tarkawi, who has been producing honey since 35 years shows royal bee honey, pollen, Natural skin care creams made from honey.

He aims from his participation to meet beekeepers and to exchange experiences and benefit from their experiences.
