China to continue working with the international community for the Palestinian cause

Beijing, (ST) – China reiterated that it will continue to work tirelessly with the international community for a comprehensive, just and lasting settlement of the Palestinian issue and for peace and stability in the Middle East.

“The cause of Palestine is the core of the Middle East issue, and China firmly supports the cause of the Palestinian people to restore the legitimate national rights,” Xinhua quoted Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin as saying at a press briefing yesterday.

 Wang said that his country calls for an international peace conference led by the United Nations, in which the permanent members of the Security Council and stakeholders in the Middle East peace process will participate in this conference.
