Russia is the last country in Europe that wants to utter the word “war” at all. This was stated by Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov in TV program on Sunday.
“We remind you that Russia has never attacked anyone throughout its history. And Russia, which has survived so many wars, is the last country in Europe that wants to speak at all, even pronounce the word “war,” Peskov said and added that It makes no sense for Russia to attack anyone.
Therefore, the Kremlin speaker believes, the actions of the West, which daily announces the date of a possible Russian invasion of Ukraine, are provocative and lead to escalation of tension.
“Well, you see, the president himself does not pay attention to this, but in general, such statements, of course, are such an element of a provocative nature. The fact is that this directly leads to escalation of tension. And when tension is escalated to the maximum, as now, for example , on the line of contact, then any spark, any unplanned incident or any minor planned provocation can lead to irreparable consequences,” Peskov warned.
“Therefore, all this has, can have detrimental consequences – this is a daily exercise in announcing the date of the Russian invasion of Ukraine,” the Russian presidential spokesman said.
