Paris (ST): The French presidency announced today that Russian President Vladimir Putin and American Joe Biden have agreed to hold a summit on the Ukraine crisis based on a proposal by French President Emmanuel Macron.
Agence France-Presse quoted the Elysee as saying in a statement today that Macron spoke with Biden as well as with Putin and suggested holding a summit between them and then with all concerned parties on security and strategic stability in Europe.
The statement added: “Both Presidents Biden and Putin agreed on the principle of such a summit, the content of which will be prepared by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, during their meeting next Thursday.”
