Charities in Hasakah province hold free education courses to students after the US-Backed SDF militia seized many schools

A number of charities in Hasakah province have dedicated part of their activities to serve the education process after the US-backed “Syrian Democratic Forces” (SDF) militia seized the many schools.

The move comes to help the education process in Hasakah province continue in accordance with the education ministry’s curricula and to help as many students as possible complete their study after the SDF militants occupied the schools and added great pressure on the rest of government schools.

The free courses will compensate the students for missed lessons and alleviate the costs of private education courses on the families.

According  Bassam Yusuf, Chairman of the Board of “Elias Hanna” Charity in the city of Qamishli said that 90% of charity’s funds will go to supporting education, holding free education courses in almost all subjects and paying the school fees.

On his part, Chairman of the Board of “Souria Al-Yamama” Charity in the city of Hasakah Saeed Al-Khuder said that the charity has started to hold supporting courses for students of high school and basic education certificates to compensate them for the missed lessons.

He added that the courses target 4600 students from both high school and basic education categories.

Ilham Sorkhan, Director of Education in Hasakah, affirmed the importance of such courses to support the students, particularly after the SDF militia has seized about 2000 schools and turned them into headquarters for their activities, thereby depriving thousands of students from education and adding pressure on other schools.
