The International Export Specialized Exhibition for Leather Industries and Production Supplies opened

Damascus (ST): With the participation of more than a hundred Syrian and Arab companies, the activities of the International Specialized Export Fair for Leather Industries and Production Supplies kicked off on the fairgrounds.

The exhibition, which is organized by the Arab Federation of Leather Industries in cooperation with the Federation of Chambers of Industry and Commerce, includes the latest models of men’s, children’s, women’s and sports shoes, in addition to the raw materials used in this industry such as leather, molds and others.

In a statement to the media, Minister of Industry Ziyad Sabbagh referred to the importance of the leather industry in Syria, as it is mostly a local industry in light of the availability of raw materials, the presence of specialized and experienced technical manpower and the high taste of designers, noting that the ministry is constantly striving to overcome the difficulties experienced by industrialists and exporters, and it communicates with various parties to solve their problems.

For his part, the head of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Industry, Faris Al-Shihabi, indicated in a statement that what distinguishes the exhibition is the competitiveness of prices for neighboring countries, pointing out that the visitors confirmed their admiration for the offered products and will sign export contracts in light of the competitiveness of the Syrian product in terms of price and quality.

In turn, the Secretary-General of the Arab Federation of Leather Industries and a member of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, Muhammad Kazara, indicated that the exhibition, which is being held on an area of 5,000 square meters, contributes to enhancing the competitiveness of Syrian producers despite the difficult circumstances and the unjust economic siege.
