Technical education is one of the aspects of public education in Syria, which is provided through applied colleges and technical institutes. The increase in the financial allocations allocated to the technical education reflects interest in supporting this education and making it free.
Dr. Assem Qaddah, director of the technical institutes at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, said in a statement to SANA that these institutes are distributed between public universities and the Ministry of Education, noting that the government is working continuously to preserve free education.
The current budgets of 2022 for technical institutes affiliated with universities amounted to five billion one hundred and forty-seven million Syrian pounds, which is equivalent to 133 percent of the budgets of 2021. This budget reflects the great interest of the government in technical education.
He noted that the allocated funds are constantly increasing within the state’s general policy in support of technical education.
