Syrian pavilion in the Expo 2020 Dubai hosts Food Industries Forum

DUBAI, Feb.16, (ST)-The commercial section of Syrian pavilion in the Expo 2020 Dubai organized yesterday the Syrian Food Industries Forum in the presence of more than 70 representatives of the public and private sectors in many Arab and foreign countries.

The forum, which is attended by representatives from the UAE, Oman, Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Australia, Uganda and Malaysia, aims to show the Syrian food industry sector, attract direct investment and develop business, and to provide an opportunity for the participants to have an idea about economic opportunities in Syria and discuss topics of mutual interest, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

About 35 Syrian companies representing the food industries sector as some companies gave a presentations on their products and the expressed their readiness to export and sell them in the Arab and international markets.

“Food industry in Syria is one of the most important economic sectors because of  its close link with the Agriculture sector”, said Dr Ghassan Abbas, Chairman of the Syrian Mission in the United Arab Emirates and the Commissioner –General of the Syrian Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.

It is worth mentioning that the forum of Syrian food industries comes on the sidelines of the Gulfood Exhibition being held in Dubai World Trade Center.
